Meticulous craftsmanship
Constructed from heat-cured poplar and maple, our knife covers provide exceptional edge protection and moisture control, ideal for preserving carbon steel blades. Engineered for durability, our sayas are remarkably sturdy.
Made in the USA
Each piece is made in our Brunswick, Maine workshop where we source wood locally from the New England area. We may be a small operation but with a decade of experience, we’ve become a trusted name in kitchens and knife shops worldwide.
For professional and home chefs
Whether you're a culinary expert with precision skills or a dedicated enthusiast looking to elevate your cooking experience, we offer a wide range of sayas to accommodate your kitchen knives.
Our story
For almost a decade, founder Ed Ross spent time as a chef, specializing in Japanese cuisine. He started making saya and knife handles for friends in the Portland Oregon food industry and developed a passion for wood working. As a result he started EDRO in 2015 with a focus on creating thoughtfully designed products for kitchen folk, both professional and at home. His pieces help realize that tools are an extension of one's self.
